A true Caribbean son of the soil, Vaughn Constable was born and raised on a small island in the Eastern Caribbean; home of music festivals, flower festivals and tropical paradise, Saint Lucia – the Helen of the West Indies. Born of a Micoud tradesman, Vaughn often battled with academics and his creative abilities. Being an entrepreneur was basically a taboo in his family, since it wasn’t a profession encouraged being the son of a prominent school teacher.
Vaughn later graduated from the Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School and secured employment with the Bay Gardens Resorts, St. Lucia. During his tenure in the hospitality industry, under the supervision and astute direction of hotelier extraordinaire, Mrs. Berthia Parle MBE, he developed an interest in Tourism Marketing, where he managed booking engines and extranets and assisted with various marketing initiatives for the hotel chain.
During that period, Vaughn pursued studies and training in Web Design at the National Skills Development Center, graduated with an ‘A’ grade and later secured a major project consisting of collecting and analyzing travel service data of association members for building and maintaining the St Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association website, under the project management of Yvonne Agard.
After acquiring a scholarship from the Office of the Private Sector Relations (OPSR), Vaughn took on studies with the Capela Institute of Marketing (UK) in a Professional Diploma in Tourism Marketing.
Vaughn’s knack for design enabled him to secure the award for creativity and innovation at the Bay Gardens Resorts Awards 2006 and made him a staple in events planning, especially for weddings and banquets on property. When he’s not on the computer working, he is usually on a ladder in the Bougainvillea Room – he lived on property!
Having migrated to the United States in 2008, this opportunity provided Vaughn with endless avenues for development and harnessed his potential, further exploring his creativity. He pursued his passion, ensuring the comprehension of design and the business aspect is achieved at all cost. He went on to attend the Art Institute of New York and graduated at the top of his class in Web Development and Interactive Media in 2016. His training, together with obtaining clients/customers, allowed him to incorporate the technical skills he learnt with his creativity to work with small business owners in developing their websites, branding and conceptual needs in online and offline marketing and advertising initiatives under his firm, Vee Productions Group LLC.
The concept of the brand, ‘Twist’, was conceptualized in 2011 and became a product six years later in 2017; manufacturing bows of different styles, material and fashion. This in turn, allowed his establishment to provide the fashion world with a unique sense of elegance with the “TwistByVee” lifestyle, while advocating against and sensitizing the world on different social ills affecting society with his “Bows For A Cause” campaign.
